Hopefully they do the testing soon. Do you have a dietician that can help you maximize his feeds so that he's getting extra high cal's in the meantime?! Just thinking that if you have to wait long they may want to help him gain some weight. How frustrated you must feel. We've struggled with GI issues for the past 17 months, and we had to push, push, push our GI docs to do any tests. Last October, after an upper GI and sigmoidoscopy I swear I all but bullied them to do, the results came back that he had H. Pylori, a potentially cancer causing infection in the stomach when left untreated (and the treatment being so simple... two antibiotics and prevacid). After that, we thought we were done with the GI problems and home free. Not so. What started out as not great GERD when he was 1mo old, turned into GERD from h*ll, and he resumed the full vomitting and weight loss you describe. We tried everything... prevacid, lactulose and reglan to move things thru his tummy faster, a tucker sling, elevate the bed, formula changes, acupuncture, herbs, massage, you name it, we tried it. So, in the end, he wound up getting a Nissen fundoplication that basically wrapped a part of his stomach to the lower part of the esophagus, such that he can't vomit. It's made a huge difference. Bobby's gone from a boy who was down around the 25th percentile on the DS growth charts to one who, as of this past Monday's pediatrician visit, at the 75th percentile (DS chart) for length and 60th-ish for weight (DS chart, again). The moral of this story, you are your child's best advocate. We sought several opinions, and I'm so glad we did. I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

If you want to check out Bobby's progress, see his blog, at:
http://bobbygrunsted.blogspot.com

Good luck to you!Two Mamashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11350108423342895473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3016568225160293031.post-66234627102909265982009-10-15T22:10:33.995-04:002009-10-15T22:10:33.995-04:00So sorry to hear about that!
