Playgroup

Somehow I forgot to mention this last week...

Last Monday I had my very own mini-play group here at our house. Yippee, right? But wait, listen to this. This wasn't just any ol' playgroup. This group consisted of 4 Little Ones (including Dylan), all the same age, 3 with that extra little something - T21! There were also 3 kiddos (including Cass), all the same age, 1 with Down syndrome!

All of the kids, playing together. Us moms, sitting and chatting about our experiences. What a wonderful day it was!

I have known two of the moms for a couple of months now and met this new mom at The Morning Travelers Group, which we attended last Saturday.

I feel SO fortunate to have already met so many wonderful people who are traveling this same journey. And as we continue traveling, I am looking forward to meeting even more.

We had a playgroup like that not too long ago too!!! So fun and I felt the same way about sharing the journey with some other amazing moms.

Awesome!!

I met a lady at the cardiologist a few months ago who had a little girl with DS. We chatted for awhile, and then we got called back to the office. Once we were back there, I realized I really wanted to give her my name and number. But then I couldn't find her.

Last month I went to a DS seminar (which was TOTALLY lame-o, BTW) and I pulled up in the parking lot right next to her car!!!!

She and her little girl (5 months old) came over last week. I totally need to post those pics on my blog.

We are starting up playgroups soon. I can't wait. I love meeting with our DS parents each month, but a smaller, more intimate group will be wonderful!!

That is fantastic! We have many playgroups here but we haven't been brave enough to go to any yet. I think that is great that you went ahead and initiated it at your house. Very cool! You are right that without a support system this journey would be very very tough!

So good to see you at MT - I loved seeing all the cute babies and little kids!!! And what fun for you to have families nearby with kids the same age. That's fantastic. Hope to see you soon.

How amazing. Wish we could have been there to join in the fun as well.
