Hooray for you Dylan! Way to go! Laurie, I am sure this is such a proud moment for you! I just love seeing milestones being met, gives me so much hope for Landon! Wow, another memory to add to that memory box of yours! Keep up the good work Dylan........you are a "SUPERSTAR":)
I just got caught up on some of your posts. First, I love Dylan's funny face, Sam does the same exact one!! He squints his eyes and has a huge grin, we laugh and laugh and he loves it!! I loved your post about the R word. I have done the same thing as you but what makes it worse is that it came from a family member. Then several months ago I got lamblasted by my father for getting on my Mother for saying the R word. He said I was being disrespectful to her and I turned around and said, She and now you have been disrespectful to my whole family, especially my son. It is so hard but our relationship has never been the same, their is a distance that i have had to put between us. My sister will say it on the phone still and I just sit in silence and say I have to go. It's so hard because you don't want to alienate yourself from these individuals and you don't want to create hard feelings or create a huge fight. I don't have the answer I just know how badly it hurts and even harder is the fact that they don't realize how hurtful it is, they just say to quit being so sensitive, etc I remember when I first brought Sam home I cried thinking, will he know who I am, will he know I am his Mom, will he know how much I love him, will we have a relationship where he understands things. I worry about these things as well but as he gets older I feel that he knows I am his Mom and he understands. I love it when he clings to me and won't go to others and turns for me to pick him up when he is not sure of things. I think it's a sign that we will have a beautiful relationship. Anyway, I am rambling but I just want to thank you for your posts, they hit home with me and I'm glad I'm not the only one that has to go into the bathroom to regroup.
YEAH!! I love that he sets it down then picks it up for another drink. He knows how to make mommy proud! That is awesome Dylan! You keep making such awesome progress, you are one smart little boy!!
Fantastic job Dylan! That is so inspiring! I'm sure that must make you so proud since it has been such a long hard struggle with Dylan's eating and drinking. I can't wait till Liliana is drinking from a sippie cup too! You give me lots of hope!
Awesome! Is that the little bear drinking cup? I know lots of kids that have done well w/ those. He's really looking like a big boy holding his own drink.
