A for Effort

Well, I think it's safe to say that I am totally and completely burned out with all of this spit up talk. How 'bout you?

If you can't bear any more of it, please feel free to skip the following update. I wouldn't blame you in the least. Trust me.

So, after talking with Dylan's GI doctor as well as his pediatrician today (why yes, yes I am becoming quite the squeaky wheel), I was informed that some of Dylan's blood work has come back elevated. The elevations were shown in potassium as well as zinc (and somethingelsethatIcantrecallatthemoment) which his doctor said may indicate some kind of allergy and/or irritation in his esophagus or stomach. They are recommending an upper GI endoscopy at this time, which will also include taking biopsies of his tissue. I feel like at this point in time, it is pretty justified, so we are going to go ahead with it in hopes that we will be one step closer in finding an answer for our little guy.

Anyway...

I decided to put Dylan on the floor the other morning. I knew the ramifications may be nasty, but oh well - I let him go crazy - spit up be darned!

I'd say he deserves an "A" for effort. Don't you?

Oh Laurie I feel for you! I'm glad that the doctors at least found something so that maybe you can get some answers about your little guy. I love the video! He is so stinkin' cute! Love how he gets lost in his t-shirt! So sweet! Best of luck and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Oh I have been where you are :( and yes, sometimes you just gotta say "spit up be darned" - and make sure you have a bottle of carpet cleaner :)- I hope you find out whats causing it. Good for you for being a squeaky wheel.

Loved watching your video!! Sam is trying so hard to do just that. He goes to reach and then he rolls over. We are trying to get him to just reach and then reach with his other hand and not roll over, it's very frustrating. Hopefully he will get the hang of it.

awesome video! that darn shirt is just getting in his way, but it doesn't seem to slow him down :) he doesn't seem to mind!!! sorry to hear about the elevated levels in his bloodwork - hopefully the biopsies can let you know once and for all what is going on!!!

Aww I love the video! I hope you guys get some answers soon! Did you ever consider looking further into the possibility of an intestinal webbing/blockage?
