Ugh!! Well, I'm glad he's ok, but do they think it's a muscle tone thing? Or is now when you move on to celiac testing? So frustrating!

So sorry. I'm glad he's okay, but sorry you don't have any more answers.

I haven't commented in awhile since I was away and then have been reading on my lunchbreak at work where I can't comment from. Just have to say HOrray!!! for the straw. Sorry for the spit up. Hope it gets better and you guys figure it out soon.

what a mixed feeling kind of result - on the one hand, YEAH that his gi results were normal (so that there is not anything serious regarding the gi tract going on), but at the same time, how frustrating that you still have no answers and your gut is telling you something that obviously things just aren't right!!!! did they have any suggestions of further tests or specialists to see? sorry all of this is so frustrating, but i am happy for dylan that the gi testing shows his gi tract is "normal". still thinking of you and hoping for answers somehow soon!

I'm sorry that you didn't find what you were looking for Laurie. You must be so worried and frustrated. I'll keep you in my prayers and hope that you'll find some answers. Soon. Keep the faith. Your little guy will be okay.

Did they offer up any explanation for the vomitting? I think this might be key to the next steps. If they think the vomitting is due to GERD, and the GERD cannot be managed by feeding repositioning, medication (to help pass the food more quicky and minimize the injury of acid reflux to the esophagus), it might be time to get a second opinion and ask 3 things - (1) get a RAST test done to see if he has allergies to milk or soy (though this can also be deceiving... Bobby's RAST was fine, however, when we reintroduced soy (he'd been on Elecare), he vomitted profusely), (2) should you switch to a formula that's more broken down (Alimentum, Elecare, etc), and/or (3) is your little guy a candidate for the Nissen fundoplication, given his issues with gaining weight.

I feel for you, Laurie. It sucks. It makes one feel helpless. There's no other way to describe feeding issues. A big hug to you.

Oh I feel for ya. In a way it's good news..but the reflux is such a hard thing to deal with. I am hoping that you find answers soon. My therapist that are part of the feeding team tell me that right now I just have to work through the reflux issues and mucus issues. It's not fun, or ideal but that's what I have to do for now. They say I have to keep trying. So hang in there hun and keep trying different things and hopefully you will find a soloution soon. Are there anythings that Dylan eats and doesn't get reflux with? Big Hugs to you, I think you are doing an amazing job as a mom.

Well: crap.

I've been following your saga along with everyone else, and I hate to hear this. I can't imagine how frustrating and scary this must be for you. We dealt with spit up - lots and lots of spit up, but nothing of this magnitude. Ozzie had gradually gotten a lot better, if that means anything. Probably not, but it's all I've got for you.
