Mmm snow! And what has gotten into me?!

While Dylan stayed nice and toasty warm inside the house today, Cassidy and I ventured out into the frigidness. And how does this two year old enjoy her first big snow storm experience? By sitting in a snow bank. And eating snow, of course.
And on a totally unrelated note - something strange has gotten into me lately. I have been so unbelievably motivated to clean our house this past week, it's not even funny.

Before I explain what I've done, you must picture a very cluttered house. I mean, it's not necessarily dirty, it's just filled with lots and lots of...oh I don't know...just stuff.

See, when Dave and I moved into this house a few years ago, we shoved everything into closets, drawers and cupboards all the while trying to convince ourselves that it was a temporary solution to a major clutter problem. Oh, we'll organize all that stuff later. Yeah, yeah, later.

Three years later, here we go. This week I've even gone so far as to organize our Tupperware cupboard, which was quite frightening let me tell you. I've gone through our entire closet and filled garbage bag upon garbage bag of dusty old clothes, gross sheets and towels with holes in them. I have dusted, mopped (OK, so Dave mopped, but still), vacuumed, thrown more crap away than you can imagine. I've purchased curtains for our bedroom, cleaned Bailey's dog bed, and have put a bug in Dave's ear about getting a flat screen TV for our bedroom. Hehe.

Please believe me when I say, this is so not like me. But I kinda like it. Go me.

Love Cassidy's pink coat and hat.

If you want to vacation in the Chicagoland area you can either #1 get me motivated to clean or better yet #2 do it for me!!

Sounds to me like you deserve that TV.

On a side note...I dug up Lily's booster type high chair...she loves it!! I'll post pics to my blog later.

Cassidy is so cute!!!, btw Dylan and Cass do look so alike :). Regarding your lately motivation, it is not strange at all and you are not alone, I’m working on it too. This is the best time of the year to do some cleaning and get rid of old stuff, to release and cleanse away stuck/clutter/negative energy so we can start the new year fresh, lighter and renewed. Go Laurie!!!, you deserve that flat screen TV and more :).
All the Best ~

The picture of Cassidy is adorable. We don't get much of the white stuff here in Central Texas. If we do it is gone by noon.

As for the cleaning. I am motivated, but having a hard time finding time. I am cleaning things out little bits at a time and it feels great!

My dad is here visiting Texas from Boston. I can not beleive how much snow ya'll are getting up there ! We will be wearing shorts on Christmas. When Dad explained about snow shoveling, I asked why would anyone want to live in that ? Seeing the pic of Casidy expalins it all.

Fun snow day! Wish we'd get one.

I've been doing the same thing here at our house. Like you, we moved in and shoved stuff everywhere just to have a clear path to walk. And 3 years and 2 babies later, we're just now starting to get it under control. It's a nice feeling to actually be able to find stuff, isn't it?
