i have a voice

I saw this earlier on Jennifer Graf Groneberg's blog, Pinwheels, and had to share. It's called "i have a voice - Down syndrome Awareness Project".

Love it! I just went on a little rampage about prenatal testing so I may wait a couple of days to post this! I can't believe how strongly I feel about this and Bennett is not even here yet- I can't imagine what I will feel like when actually gets here! Thanks for sharing it!

How sweet is that? I just love it, thanks so much for sharing it on your blog. Also, I am STOKED that D's PT went so well! He is going to do so well with it.

Hi Laurie...I thought I would answer your question here instead of on my blog because you might not see it there.

When I brought up the 6 month thyroid check, the doctor mentioned that he would be doing a blood count test (for leukemia) and a test for anemia at 12 months. I told him that I would rather not have Lily stuck so many times unless he thought the thyroid test was necessary at this time. Actually, since he didn't even know about the thyroid test, I wanted to spare him some embarrassment :0) He doesn't really think Lily has any issues with her thyroid because she is growing steadily (if not slowly) and has fairly good muscle tone. For this reason, I made the decision to wait until 12 months.

If you think there could be an issue with Dylan though, I would say go ahead and do it now. But, of course, that's your decision. Keep me posted!
