Another Ordinary Moment

It's funny. As times continues on, I find that I've been struggling a bit with what to write about here.

In the beginning, it wasn't like this. Oh, I used to easily pop out post upon post with various concerns, questions, uncertainties, struggles, fears.

But now. I don't know. More and more, day by day, minute by minute, our lives are filling up with ordinary moments.

Moments that I wonder whether or not are significant enough - or blog-worthy enough to post.

But they are! To me, they are!

They are because these ordinary moments are what make up our life, now. And within each ordinary moment is...something. Beauty, love, meaning, growth, purpose.

And that is significant. Sure, it may not be the most exciting thing in the world to read about Dylan's newest sign or what Cassidy said the other day, but it's our life.

And sometimes it's ordinary.

And I love it.

I know what you mean. Here's what I decided though. Even if it just seems like normal, everyday stuff to us, it might be just what someone with a new diagnosis needs to see and read. Everything can be just regular ol' life stuff with Ds. Plus...I like to go back and read the about all our ordinary stuff!

Ordinary is the best! {Especially when for a brief - or not so brief - moment in time you think your life will never be ordinary again...}

Hope you don't mind my stopping by. I have an almost 2 year old little guy with Down syndrome! Love your post today. That's exactly how I've been feeling!

We love "ordinary" moments. I think that after all of the "unordinary" moments that we go through in these first years, we deserve to have relaxing ordinary days, just like everyone else and we always love seeing pictures! I think I'm gonna start saying that "Have an ordinary day today:)" I need one of those!

Ordinary can be great as well and as long as you include adorable photos of your two, how could you possibly go wrong? :-)

I feel exactly like you Laurie, I guess that's part of the reason I haven't posted in a very long time. I wonder who really cares about my ordinary moments, but you hit the nail on the head. Ordinary is awesome and it's important in each and everyone of our lives. Keep up the good work with Dylan! He's one lucky little guy!

Love this post Laurie! This IS what we are all here for. Sharing our ordinary moments (after all, these are the moments that consume our days) that prove our kiddos are loved and valuable to their family and community. Any new parent with a new Ds diagnosis that should stumble across your blog would let out a sigh of relief knowing that they too, will be fulfilled by these ordinary moments. And that is comfort in itself. This is why we have a little something for you over at our blog, stop by when you have a chance!!

I love the ordinary moments! As a new mom I love hearing about the everyday stuff. Yes, I have questions and concerns too, but more than anything I love hearing about how "normal" every one's days are.
