Acceptance

I came across an inspiring article a couple of days ago. It is about John, a male high school student with Down syndrome, who was recently named Homecoming King. You can read all about it here.

After reading this article and viewing the video, I got the impression that this young man is very much accepted by his peers. He is more alike than different and they know this. This was not a pity vote. He is well liked. He is one of them. He is accepted.

This is what I want for Dylan. Acceptance. Happiness. Love.

I loved that video! I believe as well that he was truly liked, he didn't just get a pity vote.
I do know one thing for sure, Dylan is already accepted, and more loved than any little boy could handle! He is my sweet little nephew, I love him so much!

I love John’s inspiring story. Dylan will have a happy life because he will continue to be loved, accepted, and embraced. Laurie, Dylan is a beautiful baby, he is a great teacher, he has a new and pure soul, he will always be very sensitive to people's feelings and therefore he will always be very loving and compassionate, touching so many people, bringing lots of joy to everyone. Dylan is a blessing ~

Hi Laurie,
I just came across your blog. Your son is gorgeous! I can't believe how big Cassidy is getting. I'm thinking of you as you prepare for the big surgery.

Take care,
